Hello, I am Anna Scarborough!
This world is getting as wild as a buck in Winter! It is my goal to create an online space for you to read about being self-sufficient whether you have a homestead or simply want to know more about creating a healthy home. I am a young wife and homemaker working to build a natural, handmade home for the benefit of my family. I will never claim to know-it-all but I hope to share a perspective that others can learn from while reading personal experiences from my home and kitchen.

Meet The Scarborough’s
Joseph and I met in January 2020 before the world shut down. We have created many adventures and memories together since our beginning! After many hunting and fishing trips, dirt roads, and road trip adventures, Joseph proposed in the Spring of 2021 in Cades Cove, TN. We officially tied the knot on March 5th, 2022 in a beautiful barn located near my hometown. Now we are working together to fund our future in farming! I am currently staying home to invest time into learning gardening, scratch cooking, healthy habits, handicraft projects, and homemaking! We are following the Lord’s plan for us while growing our marriage as a foundation before adding tiny hands and feet to our blessed nest.
About Me
I am a small-town Georgia native and a southern belle at heart. I grew up exploring farmland that belonged to my great-grandparents. Wandering through old barns, pine thickets, and the heart of my family’s history, it is no surprise that I developed such a heartfelt connection to the old-fashioned southern lifestyle. Because of my heritage, I am creating my own image of a multi-generational farm to call home!
I spent most of my life being independent and self-sufficient as an only child. Then, I found myself learning to be a sister-in-law to seven of the most amazing siblings only the Lord knew I needed.
In high school, I spent every summer as a teen volunteer at a local hospital. I learned about the different areas of the hospital, talked with professionals, and discovered a love for serving others. Over four summers, I earned 150+ volunteer service hours and was awarded a scholarship by the Medical Center Auxillary. I started college and finished an associate’s degree in healthcare but no longer felt the call to become a nurse. When Joseph and I met, we decided homemaking would be best for the future we are creating together.
I earned several Young Georgia Author awards for pieces I wrote in school. The idea of becoming an author was something I thought had to be put off until I had enough experience or words to say in order to publish any kind of work. Blogging never crossed my mind until Joseph turned to me one day and said that I should write. After thoughtful consideration, I began to research and found rewarding work that allowed me to be an author at home.
Fun Facts About Me
I am a photographer but mainly for the purpose of blogging. I only shoot portraits, events, and other sessions as a side business upon request. Farmstead Photos is my photography business linked to the website and social media.
Traveling has been a part of my life longer than I can even remember. I have been as far west as Yellowstone National Park and as far south as Key West, Florida.
I have played piano for over ten years of my life and have served on the worship team at church. I have been very active in church from a young age but being a part of the music team during worship is the most fulfilling to me.
I did not play sports in high school but I had coaches begging me to play softball and basketball. As a Junior, could squat 210lbs but never took interest in playing sports.
